There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club Lotto Jackpot on Saturday night 12th March. The numbers were  3 – 12 – 25 – 29 three punters matched three numbers Lauren Carey Rathoma Killala, Gerard Jordan Enniscoe Castlehill, Noel Hegarty jnr Dooleeg the each win €75. Crossmolina advanced to the quarter final of the Michael Walsh League after hard earned two points win over Kiltane at St Tiernans Park on Saturday evening. Played in ideal conditions on a soft pitch the hosts were the dominant side in the opening half and lead at the break 0 – 7 to 0 – 3, a string of points from Brian Benson and one each from Thomas McNulty, Paul Duffy and Gerard Haran. Ultan Corrigan replied with two and Shane Lindsay with another. That lead was reduce to one point inside three minutes when a high ball into the square broke, and a tangle of legs resulted in a penalty  which Ultan Corrigan scored with a low drive to the left of Kieran Haran. Three points from Sean Kelly and one from Brian Benson restored the five points advantage entering the last ten minutes. Ultan Corrigan pointed a free and minutes later fired home a goal from 12 meters to leave a nervy last six minutes. Sean Kelly pointed from play to leave Deel side a two points win in an entertaining game .

Stephen’s Award
Congratulations to Stephen Rochford on being awarded the Sports Personality of the year at the Annual Western People sports awards in Hotel Ballina on Friday night. The award is in recognition of his achievements in guiding Corofin of Galway to All-Ireland Club success on St Patricks Day last against Slaughneil of Derry. His many colleagues and former team mates are delighted with Stephen’s success and wish him all the best of luck as Mayo Senior team manager.

Strictly Come Dancing Thanks
Crossmolina Strictly come dancing a special word of thanks to everybody concerned with running of our highly successful and enjoyable fundraising gala night held in Hotel Ballina on Saturday night week. To all our supporters, our back room people, Hotel Ballina thank you, a special thank you to all our sponsors and above all to our Dancers who performed on the night, to Frank Forde MC thank you. To the hard working committee under the chairmanship of Damien Lavin a sincere thank you. The much needed moneys raised will help fund the New Astro Turf pitch and the running of the club

Championship Draws
 Treanlaur Catering championsp Mayo championship draws took place in Elverys McHale Park on Monday night of last week. Crossmolina Senior team are Group 3 with just one home game against Ballinrobe and away to Ballina and Castlebar. Crossmolina Junior team are in Group 1 away to Laherdane and Charlestown B and home to Achill

Active Age Over 55’s
Walking and aerobics for both men and women has resumed on Tuesday’s at 12 noon after the Christmas break in the Crossmolina GAA centre. New members welcome
