There was no winner of the Crossmolina GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night 1st of November. The numbers drawn were 5, 6, 8, 18. There was no match 3 numbers, so six tickets were drawn, Evelyn and Vincent Crowley, Dermot and Kay Loftus, Nuala and Dave Mathews, Eileen Murray, Marie Gallagher, Karen and Michael Naughton, and they win €25 each. Next weeks’ jackpot is €4,550. The draw was held in Cawleys of Rakestreet. Many thanks for all your support

North Mayo Junior Championship Final, Sun 26/10/2104 @ 14.30, James Stephens Park, Ballina

Crossmolina and Ardnaree played out a draw in this North Mayo Junior final at James Stephens Park on Sunday. Crossmolina played with the aid of a strong breeze in the opening half were two points in arrears at the break.
It was the Ardnaree boys who set the early pace with couple of points from Eoin McCormack, from frees, Shane McKinley replied with points in 24th minute. Noelle Beattie and Michael McCormack  (two) put their side three points up entering the final moments of the half. David Howley  having the moved up field in one last attack struck over a point.
 After the break scores were still hard to come by with both sides defences on top. Eoin McCormack  added a point before Kieran Traynor gave his side a life line with goal in the 7th minute. Martin Rafter and Nigel Lynn swapped  scores before Cathal Noone pointed his side into the lead with what looked like the winner until Gerard Caden danced his way past a couple of would be defenders to kick the over the bar to level the score with just minutes left to play, final score,  1 – 4 to 0 – 7.

Crossmolina and Mayo Gaels served up a great hours’ football despite the terrible conditions of a strong breeze and showers of rain in Mayo Abbey on Sunday week. Keelan Hegarty and Darren Gill kicked points each for Crossmolina despite playing against the elements in the opening 10 minutes.  Ronan Commons and James Jennings replied with like scores for Mayo Gaels. Deelrovers Niall Maughan drilled home a penalty after a defender picked the ball off the ground in the square. The home side enjoyed a spell of dominance which was rewarded with goals from John Gallagher and James Jennings in a five minuets spell mid way through the half. Pat Murphy and Jennings added further points for the Gaels. Niall Maughan grabbed three points in the last 10 minutes of the first half to leave four points separating the sides at the break 2 – 6 to 1 – 5.
Crossmolina tacked on goals from Darren Gill and Keelan Hegarty and points from Ronan Lavelle and Darren Gill in a ten minutes spell. James Jennings replied with a goal in the 12th minute and John Gallagher and Eoin Duggan pointed to level the score. John Gallagher scored a great individual goal in the 21st minute to put the Gaels in front. The Deel-Rovers boys were not going to give up without a fight Darren Gill with two points and one from a free by Ronan Lavelle to tie the score again. With time running out and extra time looming Darren Gill waltzed his way past a couple of defenders shot for the winning point which was pulled from above the crossbar by the goalkeeper Conal Henry on to the grateful fist of Ronan Lavelle to box it to the net for the winning score,final score 4 – 11 to 4 – 8

Crossmolina got their North Mayo Championship campaign off to a winning start with a 4 – 9 to 2 – 7 win away to Ballina Stephenites. The visitors got off to a great start with goals from Keith Hopkins and Gerard Caden in the opening 10 minutes while playing against a stiff breeze. With Ballina’s Martin Murray gaining the upper hand at mid-field with some great fielding. A goal from a penalty by Aidan Kelly brought his side right back despite a couple of points from Thomas McNulty, Gerard Caden and Joe Keane the sides finished level  2 – 4 to 1 – 7 at half time.
Thomas McNulty pointed after 8 minutes but this was quickly erased when O’Hora cracked home a goal from close range. Mid way through the half Mickie Loftus scored a great individual goal to give his side the lead and the platform to go on and dominate the remaining last quarter with another goal from Gerard Caden who was on hand to fist the ball to the net after it came back off the crossbar, further points from Thomas McNulty, Keith Hopkins and Joe Keane ensured the Deel-Siders a deserving win in the end.

Crossmolina Deel Rovers G A A Club had two winners in Mayo Club Development draw for November which was held in the West End Bar Bangor on Wednesday of last week John and Aine McGuinness, Fotish Who won €250  and Christy and Ann Marie Gallagher, Deelcastle who won €100
Astro Turf Development;
The development committee have completed the tender process for the construction of the new facility. We are now in the process of confirming that the winning tenderer is competent to complete the works. We hope to have a contractor appointed in the next few weeks..
