There was no winner of the Crossmolina Deel-rovers Club Lotto jackpot on Saturday night 22nd August. The numbers were 4 – 7 – 13 – 18, Joe Harte and Gerard Jordan matched three numbers  and share €150. This weeks jackpot is €10,850. Many thanks for all your support.

Crossmolina had the assistance of the slight breeze in the opening half and Ian Rowland kicked the opening score straight from the throw in. Killala’s Martin Maheady from play Andrew Farrell a free  and Darragh Herbert  and Brendan Garvin both from play added points each before Ian Rowland and Andrew Farrell exchanged points.The Deel-Siders  were gaining the upper hand at midfield and forwards profited with points from Gerard Haran one and two Ian Rowland Andrew Farrell pointed a free and  Thomas McNulty did like wise to tied the score in the 21st minute. Alex Quinn and Darragh Herbert tacked on two more points Thomas McNulty replies with two of his own before Andrew Farrell point gave his side a two points advantage at the break 0 – 9 to  0 – 7. A Ian Rowland black card  after 4 minuets denied the Deel-Siders scoring threat they badly needed and Martin Maheady and Andrew Farrell stretched  their sides lead to four points 10 minutes into the second half Thomas McNulty with two points and one from Gerard Haran which Andrew Farrell replied with a like score from a free Thomas McNuly and Gerard Haran tied the score with as the game entered stoppage time both sides defences were put under great pressure before Killala were awarded a controversial 45 which Andrew Farrell pointed to give his side a one point win When Crossmolina look back on this game they will rue the missed chances over  the hour and a specially eight second half wides where’s Killala were much sharper in front of goal

After a exciting and high scoring Mayo U21 first round Championship tie at Fr O’Hara park on Wednesday evening last the finished level. After lightning opening ten minutes the visitors raced into a four points lead with a goal from Conor Loftus and point from Gerard Haran then Mark Ward pulled a goal back and Niall Murphy added a point further points from Jordan Flynn two Gerard Haran and Fionan Duffy restored Crossmolina lead  Jack Reilly pointed and another Charlestown goal tied the score midway through the half  Mark Ward pointed and Niall Murphy tacked on a      1 – 1 Fionan Duffy finished the half with three points to leave his side trailing by two points 3 – 4 to 1 – 8 Conor Loftus and Fionan Duffy nudged his side in front Mark Ward tapped over two pointed frees another goal from the East Mayo boys A Gerard Haran goal and a point had tied up the score after 16 minutes and it was tit for tat for the remaining quarter. Gerard Haran pushed his side a point up Jack Reilly  replied with a point Conor Loftus cancelled that out and Mark Ward tied the score once a gain to leave the final score Crossmolina 2 – 15 Charlestown  4 – 9 Crossmolina were the better side over all but they missed too many good scoring chances over the hour and Charlestown with limited possession made better use of it

Crosssmolina paid a high price in this county Minor Championship tie with Breaffy on Monday last  for  the concession of four goals over the hour three in between the eighth and nineteenth minutes of the second half from Stephen McDermott,  Jason Hunt and James McGinty after being in control at the break by 0 – 6 to 1 – 2 with great point scoring from Darren Gill, Dean Loftus, Nigal Caden, Darren Caden, Keelan Hegarty and Gary Hopkins this was continued after the break with three more points from  Nigal Caden Tommy Walsh and Gary Hopkins before the visitors struck their purple patch Darren Gill Tommy Walsh and Dean Loftus tagged on points each before the final whistle to leave the final score 4 – 5 to 0 – 12

Crossmolina Junior team scored a comfortable win over Moy Davitts in County Division 1D League tie at Tiernans Park last week. Having lead from the start with a string of points from Ian Rowland Thomas McNulty Joe Keane and a goal from Thomas McNulty after 24minutes with Pat Clarke getting his sides score 1 – 1 to trail at the break by seven points. The scoring trend continued after the break and late goal’s from Ian Rowland and Sub David O’Boyle gave the home side a easy 3 – 16 to 1 – 5 win

Crossmolina Vs Breaffy
U8 Boys win the Fergal O’Boyle Memorial Cup.

The Fergal O’Boyle Memorial Cup challenge match against Breaffy took place on Saturday the 22nd of August in St Tiernan’s Park Crossmolina. Both Crossmolina and Breaffy were able to field 3 teams who battled it out for 40 minutes. The supporters got to experience some outstanding football from both teams. It was a pleasure as always to play Breaffy in this challenge match. For the first time in 3 years this cup is now in Fergal’s home town and in the hands of his nephews who both played on Saturday.
We would like to thank the Breaffy team and trainers who travelled to Crossmolina on Saturday to play in this challenge match. The O’Boyle family who have given us this opportunity to play this challenge match. To everyone who helped out on the day. To the supporters who as always are there to cheer the lads on.

Work continuing on Astro turf playing facility;
Work is nearing completion on the Astro Turf project. The contractors have laid the final drainage layer. The next job is to lay the sub layer of rubber that will act as a shock pad, thereafter the synthetic grass will be laid. Please obey all construction signs and safety notices during the construction phase.  Crossmolina Deelrovers Committee will be working on the parking and fencing of all aspects of the development.
